day, and no second chance to get it
The thing nobody plans for

What happens if your photographer cannot make it?

It is rare. It is also the one risk on your whole wedding that has no backup plan. Most photographers are one person, and life does not check your calendar.

The night before

A fever. A car that will not start.

Your photographer wakes up sick or stuck, hours before your ceremony. It is nobody’s fault. It is still your day on the line.

The scramble

A frantic search for anyone.

A last-minute text to a friend-of-a-friend who may or may not be free, or be any good. That is not a plan. That is a gamble.

The day you cannot redo

No photos, or photos that are not yours.

You only get one wedding day. There is no reshoot, no second chance, no undo. That is exactly why it is worth protecting.

You insured the ring. You insured the venue. The one record of the whole day is the part left to chance.

How it works

Three steps to a day that is covered

You keep the photographer you love. We just make sure there is always someone ready behind them.

1

Lock coverage for your date

Add coverage to your wedding date in two minutes. Your photographer can include it, or you can add it yourself.

2

Two vetted pros go on standby

Experienced, in-town photographers are matched to your date. Phones on, location confirmed, checked in 48 hours before.

3

If yours cannot make it, a pro steps in

One tap activates your standby. A vetted photographer shoots your day under a pre-signed agreement. No scramble, no surprises.

See it go live

The 48-hour check-in, watch it happen

Before your date, your standby pros confirm they are in town, phones on, and ready. You can see it, so you never have to wonder. See how the check-in works.

Why it actually works

This is not a group chat of maybes

Four things turn “I know a guy” into a guarantee you can stand on.

Field-verified pros

We send scouts to verify real skill in the field. Only experienced photographers get on standby. No self-reported portfolios.

Live 48-hour check-in

Your standbys confirm they are in town with phones on, 48 hours out and the day of. You can see they are ready.

Pre-signed agreements

The hand-off is handled by a contract built in advance, so if a backup steps in, everyone already knows the terms.

How it compares

The other “backup plans” are not really plans

Insurance pays you back. A big studio swaps in a stranger. A friend might be free. Only one of these sends a vetted pro who is already ready. See the full comparison.

What couples and pros say

★★★★★

We never thought about a backup until a friend’s photographer no-showed. We added Standby Peace the same night. We did not end up needing it, and honestly that was worth every penny.

I got the flu two days before a wedding for the first time in twelve years. One tap, a vetted pro stepped in, and the couple never felt a gap. This is the safety net our whole industry needed.

I make real money just being on standby on days I am home editing anyway. When I do get the call, it is a great couple and a fair rate. Easiest yes I have made in this business.

Built in San Diego, for the day that matters most

The product we wish existed every time we got sick before a wedding

Standby Peace was built by working wedding photographers who have shot a wedding sick because there was no one to call. Now there is. We are signing our founding San Diego pros first.

Good questions

Everything you are probably wondering

Is this insurance?

No. Standby Peace is a marketplace and standby network. We connect you with vetted backup photographers and handle the agreement between everyone. It is peace of mind, not a regulated insurance product.

What if I never need it?

Most couples never do, and that is the whole point. You are buying certainty for the one day you cannot redo. If everything goes perfectly, you spent a little and nothing changes.

How are the backup photographers vetted?

Years of real experience, a real interview, and field verification by our scouts. Only experienced pros get on standby. You also see previews, full portfolios on Premium, and which pros have saved a day before.

Who pays, me or my photographer?

Either works. Many photographers include coverage in their package and tell you they carry it. You can also add it yourself on top of any photographer you have booked.

What does it cost if a backup actually shoots?

Your standby fee covers the standby. If a pro steps in, the shoot is handled under a pre-set agreement so there are no surprises and no awkward negotiating on your wedding day.

Does this mean my photographer is not reliable?

Not at all. The best photographers carry backup precisely because they take your day seriously. Carrying coverage is a sign of a professional, not a red flag.

The one day you cannot redo

Never lose the day.

Add coverage in two minutes. Two vetted pros on standby, ready and checked in, so your wedding is never left to chance.
