Everything you are probably wondering.
Straight answers about how Standby Peace works, what it costs, and how we keep your day, and your information, safe.
Your questions, answered
Is this insurance?
No. Standby Peace is a marketplace and standby network. We connect you with vetted backup photographers and handle the agreement between everyone. It is peace of mind, not a regulated insurance product.
Does wedding insurance cover a photographer who cancels?
Wedding insurance can reimburse your deposit, but it will not find you a replacement. It pays you back weeks later. It does not put a vetted photographer at your venue on the morning of your wedding. That gap is exactly what Standby Peace fills.
What if I never need it?
Most couples never do, and that is the whole point. You are buying certainty for the one day you cannot redo. If everything goes perfectly, you spent a little and nothing changes.
Do I keep my own photographer?
Yes. Coverage sits quietly behind the photographer you booked and loved. You only ever use a standby if yours cannot make it.
How are the backup photographers vetted?
Years of real experience, a real interview, and field verification by our scouts. Only experienced pros get on standby. You can also see previews and which pros have saved a day before.
How does the check-in work?
Your standbys confirm three days before, again twenty four hours before, and the day of, with a quick photo and a one time code. You can see they are local and ready, so you never have to wonder.
Is my information and their location private?
Yes. We never show anyone live location publicly. When you need to reach a standby pro, you tap to contact through a masked number. No raw phone numbers are ever shared, for your safety and theirs.
Who pays, me or my photographer?
Either works. Many photographers include coverage in their package and tell you they carry it. You can also add it yourself on top of any photographer you have booked.
What does it cost if a backup actually shoots?
Your standby fee covers the standby. If a pro steps in, the shoot is handled under a pre-signed agreement, so there are no surprises and no awkward negotiating on your wedding day.
How is this different from a second shooter?
A second shooter is extra creative coverage who works alongside your photographer. Standby Peace is a safety net for if your photographer cannot make it at all. Different jobs, both useful.
